Sarah, 47, has rheumatoid arthritis and worked as a personal assistant before becoming unemployed two years ago.
“It can be a lonely and overwhelming situation to be unemployed while living with long-term health issues but the APM team became my guiding lights, supplying all the help I needed to secure a job,” said Sarah.
APM Support manager Lucy Bolton worked with Sarah to highlight transferrable skills and identify vacancies.
“We advised Sarah to look at companies that are Disability Confident and support their employees in their roles,” said Lucy. “Sarah is now happily working for a local supermarket.”
Sarah added: “The Work and Health Programme has been an invaluable service. The APM team are truly amazing, providing help and advice to those in need of extra support to find work.”
The Work and Health Programme is commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions and receives support from the European Social Fund. APM delivers services across the West Midlands as part of Ingeus UK on behalf of Shaw Trust.
