The Restart Scheme is supporting unemployed people across Greater Manchester in Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside and Wigan. We work with Jobcentre Plus Work Coaches and local employers to help our participants secure sustainable employment in these areas.

Local partners

In Greater Manchester, Ingeus delivers Restart on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions with our partners The Growth Company, Bolton Council, Oldham Council, Rochdale Council and B2W group.

B2W Group is a provider of employability and skills operating across England, Scotland and Wales. IT supports 14,000 customers per year through 37 contracts and draws on this experience to prepare, motivate and upskill unemployed people for new careers including matching them to existing local and national employers.
Bolton Council (The Workshop) helps residents improve their skills, health & wellbeing, confidence, find work experience, and access sustainable employment through employability and training programmes. It has achieved market leading sustainment rates programmes which place long-term unemployed people in work, reaching all priority groups and communities in the borough.
Employment Links Partnership (Rochdale Council) has been a high performer on contracts to upskill and place unemployed residents in work. It has successfully tapped into the opportunities when new employers come to the borough, providing bespoke solutions to help high numbers of local residents to benefit.
Oldham Council logo
The Council’s Get Oldham Working (GOW) initiative has been running since May 2013 and is available to citizens aged 16+ and offers a variety of opportunities including paid placements, apprenticeships, work experience placements, and undergraduate work experience opportunities. The team also delivers National Careers Service support for people on existing programmes.
