What type of support do you
offer over 50s?

A specialist team of money management advisors with a wealth of financial experience will run workshops designed specifically for people 50 plus. 1:1 sessions are available if required. You will receive practical advice about issues that matter especially to you – looking at your current finances and towards the future. The advisors will be ready to answer any questions you may have during and after your session.

What does each workshop cover?

  • Budgeting: create a budget plan by looking at how you spend your money and how you can make savings. Prioritise your spending and decide what’s important to you.
  • Borrowing and debt management: find the best deals for borrowing money, including what to consider and compare. Know how to access further debt advice.
  • Mortgages: learn what support is available if you’re struggling to pay your mortgage.
  • Equity release: what equity release is and the two main options.
  • Pensions: different types of pensions and how best to save for one – it’s never too late to start! Learn about pension credit and how to find out if you qualify for it.
  • Financial advisors: find an independent financial advisor.
  • Life cover: the importance and benefits of life cover.
  • Wills: ensure your family is looked after following your death, and reduce inheritance tax.
  • Power of attorney: the different types and their benefits.
  • Being a carer and care homes: the financial impact of both issues.
  • Support from Ingeus: practical financial support Ingeus during your job search.

How do I sign up?

You must be a participant of the JETS programme to be able to take part in the money management service workshops. If you aren’t, find out more about the job seeker support available from  Job Entry Targeted Support service in Greater Manchester or speak to your Jobcentre Plus work coach for more details. If you are a current participant, contact your JETS advisor and ask to be referred to the money management service.

The money management service is currently only available to Greater Manchester JETS participants.
Ingeus delivers the Job Entry Targeted Support (JETS) programme on behalf of the
Greater Manchester Combined Authority. The Money Management service exclusively
supports JETS participants.
